BCG Tech LED Lighting Completes Install of 30’ Solar and Wind Powered LED Parking Lot Light

Eugene, OR — April 21, 2010 — Blue Chip Group Technology, Inc. (BCG Tech), a local LED lighting and sustainable energy company based in Eugene, Oregon, has completed the installation a thirty foot self sustained solar and wind powered LED parking lot pole –the first of its kind in the region. This unit is the prototype for a model BCG Tech will make available to customers.

The installation was a collaborative effort between BCG Tech and Builder’s Electric of Eugene. “In all my years working in the region, I have never seen anything quite like this”, said Mr. Fred Wittkop, P.E., owner of Builder’s Electric.

Mr. Nathan Wiedenmann, Vice President of BCG Tech, believes the project will stimulate interest in sustainable energy and show community members that green energy is more accessible than they may think. With energy costs continuing to climb, BCG Tech is taking a proactive approach to developing sustainable technology. BCG Tech is extremely excited about this system and feels it will open up new avenues for public agencies and private business to utilize wind and solar power in practical applications.

Local clients already making strides in sustainability in partnership with BCG Tech include the Eugene Airport, Valley Iron and Steel Company (VISCO), Courtyard by Marriott in Springfield, PAW Lumber of Philomath, and the City of Eugene.

Installation Update

The first full day of installation of our 30' LED parking lot pole is complete. Yesterday they came to mark out the parking lot and cut through 3 layers of asphalt to the gravel and dirt underneath. Today a drilling company came to create the 6' hole the concrete will be poured into to form the base of the pole. Three more feet of concrete will then be shaped above ground to elevate the pole off the ground. See the pictures below, and follow the process!
